AgSkilled will be running a series of Advanced Chemical Spray Application Training Courses [1] to enable farmers to manage chemical applications on farm.
Each course will consist of a one day workshop from 9am to 4.30pm, and a workplace visit (to be scheduled in the month following the course).
The workshops will cover:
• weather
• drift reduction
• strategies and technologies
• how to recognise and avoid inversions
• chemical label requirements
• record keeping including spray plans
• PPE and OHS
• practical strategies for mixing and applying chemical
• practical demonstrations using a variety of nozzles and water rates
• water quality
• effect of adjuvants in the chemical mix
• case study – Dicamba in the US
• GHS.
