The NSW Government has recently conducted the Crown Land Management Review [1] to assess and improve the current management of Crown land and increase the benefits from Crown land for the community. This is the first major review of Crown Lands Legislation in more than 25 years. The NSW Crown estate is large and diverse, making up about 42% of the state.

In response to the recommendations, a White Paper proposing a single Act to govern Crown land has been released for public comment.
