Gully erosion and assessment control guide released
South East Local Land Services has produced a booklet designed to help land managers understand the basics of gully erosion and provide management and minimisation options.
The Gully Erosion Assessment and Control Guide is designed to help the reader understand the basics of gully erosion. It will assist users to identify if a gully is actively eroding, identify the severity of the erosion and discuss common management options.
The management options provided address existing gully erosion to minimise future erosion problems. Central to this is a gully erosion classification system, which categorises gully erosion problems and provides management options for each class of gully.
The free guide is available online, or in hard copy from the Yass, Boorowa, Goulburn and Braidwood South East Local Land Services offices and was produced through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program.
